Sheridan Dam, located between Hill City and Pactola, a project of CCC Camp Tigerville is showing rapid and favorable progress, according to Ralph D. Cypher, project superintendent. To date there have been 15,000 yards of material moved into the dam, and he said. "The work on the dam can be considered one tenth completed. Before the actual construction of the dam itself can begin there are many preparatory jobs that must be done and these jobs are well under way. With the efficient organization attacking the work the real construction will soon be started." At present there are 200 CCC enrollees working day and night, three shifts. The men are from Camp Tigerville and Camp Custer. Two side camps have been established, each to accommodate 60 men, the Custer Camp men being quartered in the old Warren-Lamb Lumber Co.

Ralph Cypher invented the Harney Hand Operated Fire Pump.
