Funeral services will be held Friday, August 31, at 2 p.m. at the Fidler Funeral Chapel, Spearfish, for Lyle C. Stitt, who died August 27, 1973 at his home in Felton, Calif. on Friday. Burial will be in the Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, Wyo.

He was born November 2,1900 in Hitchock. In 1925, he graduated from South Dakota State University, Brookings. He taught agricultural science at the college for three years. From 1937-1942, he was educational director at a CCC camp on the Cano project. In 1944, he moved to Santa Cruz, Calif. where he operated a general store.

He was married to the former Vera Reineke. Survivors include three sons, Carroll, Floral Park, New York; Lawrence, Citrus Heights, Calif., and Allen, Saratoga, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Lorraine Mancebo, San Jose, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Gaubatz, Capertino, Calif., 12 grandchildren, one brother, Byron Stitt, Sioux Falls, and a sister, Margaret Yates, San Antonio, Tex.
